This page sits beside the terms. Where they overlap, the written reply you confirmed is the order.

A wrong part from us

It happens. A 5/16-18 ends up in a bag labelled 5/16-24, or yellow zinc goes out where the reply said plain. When the part does not match the written reply you confirmed, we replace it or refund that line, your choice, and we pay freight both ways. If you are picking up, bring it to the counter and swap it.

The label is the check. Every bag leaves with thread, length, grade or alloy, finish and lot. If the label says one thing and the bag holds another, that is our error and the conversation is short. If the parts match the label and the label matches the reply, the part is what was ordered, even if it is not what the job needed.

We do not cover the labor of pulling a wrong fastener out of an assembly, downtime, or anything the part went into. Check the label before the wrench comes out.

A short count

Fasteners are counted by weight against a sample count of the same lot, and the scale is checked against a known weight before a session. On uniform parts like hex nuts that is close. On long, light items like blind rivets with steel mandrels it can drift by a piece or two.

If a box of 100 comes up short, count it, tell us within 10 days of pickup or delivery, and quote the lot number. We make up the difference on the next order or ship it alone if the job is waiting. A couple of pieces over is normal and we do not ask for them back.

You ordered the wrong thing

Full boxes, unopened, in a condition we can put back on the shelf, come back within 30 days of pickup or delivery. We credit or refund the line. A restocking charge may apply on large returns, and if it does we state the amount in writing before you send anything. Return freight is yours.

Opened boxes of commodity sizes, part boxes, and anything that has been threaded into a part are not taken back. Neither are threadlocker, anti-seize and cutting fluid once the seal is broken. We cannot resell them and we will not try.

Saw-cut bar and plate blanks

Steel bar cut to length and aluminum plate cut to size are made to your cut list. A 4.250 in piece of 1 in 6061 has no second buyer. So blanks are not returnable for a change of mind.

They are returnable when they miss the spec. Bar is cut within plus 1/16 in of the length on your list; plate blanks to the squareness and size stated in our reply. A blank outside that, or of the wrong alloy or size, gets recut or refunded at our cost. Mill scale left on A36 and protective film on 6061-T651 are as stated, not defects.

What this does not cover

  • Fasteners used outside their grade, for example a Grade 5 screw where the design called for Grade 8.
  • Corrosion of plain-finish or zinc parts used outdoors or near chlorides when the reply suggested a different finish or 316.
  • Galling of 18-8 run dry and fast. A dab of anti-seize costs less than a seized nut.
  • Hydrogen embrittlement claims on plated Grade 8 where the application was flagged in our reply.
  • Consequential losses of any kind. The limit of what we owe is the price of the line.

We hold no certification and claim none on any lot. If your job needs mill certs, ask before you order, not after.

How to start a return

Use the inquiry form and set the kind to "Return or wrong part", or write to [email protected]. Give the lot number, what you received, what the reply said, and a photo of the label and a part if you can. Phone +1 (536) 555-1163 if the job is stopped and you need us to look today.

We answer in writing with what happens next: swap at the counter, a replacement shipped, or a refund. Returns come to 46 Market Street, Büro 5, Austin, Texas 82389, United States. Please do not ship anything back before that reply; an unannounced box is hard to match to an order.

Your rights under Texas law are not reduced by anything on this page. The rest of the trading conditions are in the terms, and how your inquiry data is kept is in the privacy policy.
